ADVENTURE TIME!

So I know the title of my Blog is 'The Life of a Young Adventurer' and this may seem very misleading as I am yet to post about any adventures, but fear no more as I have a tale to tell.

Top-Pete, Sharples, Me, Maddie (sister)
Bottom-Nic, Faye and Sarah. (Joel (my brother) also came)

The Midnight Road trip-24/03/13

On Fridays I always go to the youth group at my church with all my friends and it's always really fun and we have a laugh, but this Friday was extra special because Pete is back for 4 weeks from university.
Because we're all over 16 we help lead the youth group and then stay back afterwards to help clear away and debrief, and while we were waiting to leave Sarah exclaimed how she "could murder a McDonald's right now." to which we all said "Aw yeah, us to" thus the start of what was going to be a loooong night.
As you can guess our first stop was McDonald's an amazing treat for me since I haven't been in AAAGGGEESS. We were there for about and an hour and a half just talking and catching up with each other, but we got to the point where we didn't really want to be at McDonald's anymore so we decided we were all gonna come back to our house. As we were heading out the door Sarah suggested we go climb a hill, as you do at 12am.
We then headed back to our house to get torches and warm clothes, and before you knew it we were off out again. We stopped at a petrol station to stock up on necessities (Easter eggs, Lucozade and chocolate raisins) and headed to Captain Cooks monument John Mayer full blast.
The first thing we noticed when we got there was the wind, IT WAS SOOOO WINDY! But we were there and we weren't going home without conquering that hill!
We eventually made it to the top and when we looked out at the view it was alll worth it, you could see the whole of Teesside lit up by street lamps and it was awesome. We then chilled for a bit, went back down, went home and all before 3am. I slept til 1pm on Saturday and was still tired on Sunday.

Easy 50s Look...

I don't care who you are, everyone knows the 1950s style was iconic: Massive swing skirts, high waist jeans, kitten heals and plaid shirts, loveee! I know you sing along to every song in Grease.
So here is my tribute to the 50s, and how you too can be a 50s goddess!

Clothes:

Ok, so any blue jeans are good preferably ones that can be pulled higher than the hips (without giving you a camel toe or wedgie) and roll up the bottoms to show your ankles. You can either wear some cute kitten heals or some flat pumps, I obviously chose my moccasins.

For the top, choose a sleeveless shirt or short sleeved shirt (if you choose a short sleeve shirt roll up the sleeves a little bit) then undo the first two buttons and pop the collar. You can either tuck the shirt in or tie it just about the waist of the jeans.

I wore:
Shirt-Topshop £22
Jeans-Newlook £12
Shoes-Old Navy $26

Hair

For the hair there are soo many options, but I went for a twisted quiff and hair off my face.

(excuse my face I always pull faces in pictures to make up for the fact I'm very unphotogenic)

So, yay hope you enjoyed that. Oh and if you could nominate me at thiiisss>>>>
It would mean sooo much and stuff, so yeah, (the photo is linked).

VERY SORRY!

So you've heard of the Harlem Shake right!? Love it or hate it, everyone is doing it (personally I LOVE IT, and find them hilarious).
On Friday night at my youth club we made a decision to join in with said internet sensation and here is the result-

In case you were wondering, I am the Santa dancing with the elf.

Prom Dress.

Being in my last year of school means that at the end of the year I have a Prom (yay)! Sadly this also means finding a dress, I am the most indecisive person ever making looking an absolute chore.
I started my search about 2 weeks ago after freaking out about how many people in my year had posted, on Facebook, about finding a prom dress. I didn't look many places (4 to be exact) but, afterwards I was getting annoyed since I still didn't know what type of dress I wanted. Me being me, was panicking that I would end up going in a paper bag.
BUT today I got home and my mum sent me upstairs saying nothing more than "I bought you something" and when I got up to my room I saw this:
It was love at first sight.
Then there was the matter of 'does it suit me?'
Judge for yourself.

YAYAYAY! Soo so happy to not have to worry about it anymore, and I love it.

 Outfit of the Day-

Shirt-£12 Rock Follies Vintage (Worcester).
Jeans-£7 Primark.
Top-Dads from the 80s, hehe.

Day 1.

When I went to get dressed this morning I opened my wardrobe and freaked out, last night I promised myself I would wear something girly. I looked at my wardrobe for 5 minutes utterly befuddled as to what I was going to wear, I only own two skirts and about three dresses, so realising I didn't really have too many options I chose the dress that I've worn the least and being brave I put on a pair of tights...
After staring at myself in the mirror for 10 minutes, I changed the tights to jeans (SORRY) and but on my favourite moccasins.
Here's the finished product:

Moccasins- Old Navy $26
Dress- H&M £14.99
Jeans- Unknown

Today I also bought some lipstick, my first ever, and me and my mum stood in Superdrug for about half an hour looking through the lipsticks and deciding which one suited me best. I ended up going for- Rimmel London Lasting Finish in Asia.

Marchin' On- One Republic

Saturday 2 March 2013

March.

It is now March and spring is on its way. I love spring, I love how pretty everything is and how bright everything seems, I love Easter because this usually means chocolate and time with extended family and I especially love that spring is when my birthday is, and this year I am turning 16 (scarryy).
Found
This March I'm going to set myself some goals of things that I want to achieve by the end of the month.

 March Goals:

  1. I want to start wearing more make up- I normally only wear moisturiser and foundation and only to cover up spots and create a more even skin tone so this month I'm going to be more adventurous and wear more stuff like lipstick, mascara and blusher.
  2.  Start being more girly-I am the type of person who has a million t-shirts and 3 pairs of jeans and I just kind of rotate the combinations, so this month I want to wear more skirts, dresses, tops instead of t-shirts and heels!
  3. Be more sociable-I only have a few good friends at school and then a bunch at church, but my two best friends actually live in Canada, so the people that it is easiest to hang out with in terms of how relaxed it is, are the people that it is actually hardest to hang out with. So I have decided that instead of complaining about being unsociable I am going to actually do something about it and invite friends round or organise days out and stuff.
  4. Do more photography-I love photography and I've been into it for ages, but recently I've sort of stopped doing it and I miss it, so, with spring on its way bringing beauty with it I am going to start going out of my way to do it.
If I'm going to achieve these goals, I'm going to need to need to refill my wardrobe and my make-up bag.

March Wishlist:

 1. MOTO Button Denim Pini Dress- Topshop £38. A friend recently put together and outfit for me and this was apart of it and I fell in love immediately.

2. Tan Stud Strap Ankle Boots- Newlook £19.99. I've had my eye on these for a while and they're a good price.

3. Light Blue Denim Jersey Skater Skirt- Newlook £14.99. Need. More. Skirts.

4. Gwen Boat Moccasins- Fat Face £40. Moccasins are my favourite kind of shoe, I already have some suede ones from old navy, but these leather ones are to die for!
5. Blush in Head Over Heels- Topshop £6. It's beautiful and not too bright, LOVE.
That's my plan for march, I'll get back to you on how well I do in April, I'm feeling optimistic though!
